Russia is ready to evacuate the ammunition deposits left in Transdniester since the Soviet times, once a political understanding is reached between Tiraspol and Chisinau, according to recent statements made by General Vladimir Isakov.

The "Foreign minister" of the self-proclaimed Transdniester Republic, Valeriu Litkai, discussed the issue with Russian daily Vremya Novostei in an interview where he calls Romania and Bulgaria "America's lice".

Litkai spoke of the NATO usage of “small states” like Romania and Bulgaria. US troops are dispatched to such countries to use them as "lice" to chicane the "Russian bear", he said.

In response to Isakov, Litkai says that all heavy ammunition has been cleared from the area as part of the CFE treaty since 2001. However, he admits and approves with what Isakov says that there still is light ammunition and some 1,500 soldiers detached in the area.
