NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer visits Bucharest on Monday to meet Romanian President Traian Basescu, PM Calin Popescu Tariceanu and Defense Ministry representatives for talks on the North Atlantic Alliance summit due to be held in Romania next year, shows a Foreign Ministry press release.
The talks will deal mainly with the NATO Summit that will be organized in Romania in April 2008. The agenda also includes talks on South East European security issues and international military operations NATO is currently running.
In an interview for Radio Romania Scheffer says that Romania’s active implication in Afghanistan is highly appreciated.
