Romania will be the main provider of workers for farmers in the Huelva region in Spain, daily El Pais reads, quoted by Rador. Out of the 40,298 seasonal workers the farmers demand to the Government, 22,575 are Romanian.

The rest of workers come from Morocco, Bulgaria and Ukraine, as well as some from Columbia and Ecuador.

The governmental sub-delegation in Huelva warned that the number of Romanians should decrease, since they are 7,000 more than the established quota.

Jose Manuel Romero, Freshuelva president (Freshuelva is the main strawberry producers' association_ insists that the Romanian workers are well known and appreciated in Huelva and that all the campaigns involving Romanians were satisfactory.
