The official notification European Commission was supposed to issue on the Rompetrol-KazMunaiGaz deal hasn’t arrived yet at the very European Commission officials. Some 50 days ago, Romanian businessman Dinu Patriciu sold 75% of the Rompetrol stock to the Kazakh state oil& natural gas company, KazMunaiGaz.

The European Union regulations impose some 10% of the business figure penalties for companies with notification obligations that don’t follow the proper notification procedures.

“We can confirm that a formal notification process is currently on the roll at the Brussels Competition authorities. Lawyers and companies involved should not discuss the information, at least while the approval process is on course, because it may affect the stock market”, Rompetrol Officials declared for Hotnews.ro.
