Romanian PM Calin Popescu Tariceanu said after a meeting of the Liberal Party's leadership on Monday that the next parliamentary elections could be organized in the same time as local elections in June next year. Tariceanu suggested that the uninominal voting system might be introduced before then.

He added that the government could take responsibility for a draft law in this regard but prefered that the electoral voting system be passed through the Parliament to have the acceptance of all political parties.

The Romanian PM said the uninominal voting system could assure that all areas in the country are represented.
