The Romanian Government has approved an emergency ordinance expanding the calculus base for social contributions of employers and employees by setting taxes on bonus payments and temporary salary boosts. That changers previous regulations according to which contributions to the budget were established on salaries and permanent supplementary payment boosts.

According to a Government press release, the calculus base for employees whose work is based on individual working contracts will be their gross monthly income. For workers with other types of contracts, the contributions will be set starting with the monthly income they declare in official statements.
