The UN General Assembly convenes in New York on Tuesday with an agenda dominated by efforts to contain climate changes. Romanian Foreign Minister, Adrian Cioroianu arrived in NY on Monday and is expected to to speak before the Assembly on Friday.

By October 3 there are 198 orators expected to speak, among which 99 presidents, Romanian press agency Rador informs.

Among those to speak are President of Brasil, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and US President George W. Bush. Adrian Cioroianu will attend a series of bilateral discussions with the UN Secretary General and his counterparts from Turkey, Ukraine, Iran, Iraq, United Arab Emirates and Azerbaijan.

Cioroianu will also meet the US Assistant Secretary of State for European Affairs, Daniel Fried. He will also meet both the US and EU representatives for talks on the futures status of Kosovo.
