Falca is facing charges in a case where a real estate property was sold at an undervalued price in Arad, one of the most thriving Romanian counties.

In 2005, Elecon company bought a parcel of land from the Arad City Hall for 1 million euro. However, five months later, the land was sold to another company for three times the initial purchasing price.

In November 2006, Gheorghe Falca declared that the transaction was legal and he did not take part in the City Hall’s negotiating commission.
