The number of foreigners to visit Bulgaria in the first eight months of 2007 grew by 7% amounting to four million persons. Among these, Romanians come first with about 540.000 tourists, according to the national tourism authority in Sofia, quoted by Bulgarian daily Dnevnik.

The preliminary data indicate that Bulgarian revenues in tourism rose by 16% in the mentioned period, up to 1.3 billion euro.

According to the data, Bulgaria was visited by some four million tourists, a third of which coming from the European Union.

The number of Romanians to visit Bulgaria increased by 120% compared to the similar period last year, while the number of Greeks visiting their neighboring country rose by 30%.
