Bucharest joined the big European capitals on Saturday night as the city vibrated throughout a "White Night" of cultural events which were part of the annual celebrations of its first documentation.

The city's 548 anniversary this year was marked with concerts, plays and light shows peaking with a concert in homage to Luciano Pavarotti in the Constitution Square.

The concerts were set up by the City Hall and Ar Cub center and started on Saturday at 6 pm to finish on Sunday morning.

One of the highlights of the White Night was a light show on the walls of the huge Parliament Palace - one of the biggest buildings in Europe.
