The founding stone for the future "Russia" tower was placed on Wednesday in Moscow, the Newsru.com news agency informs. "Russia" will grow to become Europe's tallest building, with 118 floors, a total of 600 meters.

The design was put up by Norman Foster, the British architect who also signed famous buildings like the new Wembley stadium, the Hearst tower in New York, the McLaren Technology Center or the Hong Kong Airport.

The construction will end in 2012. The tower will include stores, offices, a hotel and apartments.
