The Luxembourg European Court rejected on Monday in its core points Microsoft’s recourse against the 2004 decision of the European Commission accusing the American giant of taking advantage of its dominant position. At the time, EC imposed an enormous fine of half of billion euros.

The court stands for the decision of the Commission to force Microsoft in revealing some information regarding interoperability. Moreover, the Commission banned the Windows Media Player from the default Windows package.

The court gives Microsoft a wining point: it rejected the EC decision to create a monitoring commission to supervise the implementation of the decisions.
