Romanian oil company Petrom has announced that it was considering acquiring the oil service company Petromservice or at least some services provided by it, a company press release remitted to the Bucharest Stock Exchange shows on Monday.

Petrom argues that Petromservice is very important since it assures maintenance and work-over activities.

Petrom has carried a series of talks with Petromservice representatives in order to identify the means to restructure activities there so that Petrom exploitation and production works become more efficient.

Romanian newspaper Evenimentul Zilei quotes internal sources in its Monday edition who confirm the sum for which the company would be sold for: maximum 350 million euro. The contract will most probably be signed after September 18, according to the sources.
