Romania is first in Group G after a successful match for Mutu and Dica, who also scored against Turkey, in Minsk on Saturday. Adrian Mutu succeeded in scoring two goals. The host’s goal was shot by Romaschenko.
Coach Victor Piturca said that players fought for the victory and that even though Mutu and Dica scored, the new-comers played well. The coach said he hoped Romania would maintain its leading position in Group G.
Both Adrian Mutu and Nicolae Dica declared themselves satisfied with the game and confident that Romania would maintain the lead.
