A B 52 bomber crossed most of the United States last week, carrying five or six nuclear warheads, loaded by accident, military sources quoted by the international media inform.

According to AFP, six cruise missile were discovered on board when the plane landed at the Barksdale Air Base in Louisiana. Other newspapers say there were, in fact, just five missiles.

Army Times, quoted by BBC, says that the warheads were scheduled for quashing, but were accidentally placed in the plane. Each warhead had the power of 150 kilotons in TNT.
