Foreign Minister Adrian Cioroianu will suggest Mihnea Motoc for the vacant seat of Romanian ambassador in Washington. Motoc is currently Romania's ambassador at the United Nations. According to sources in the Foreign Ministry, the seat at the UN may be taken by Simona Minculescu, former presidential counselor in Ion Iliescu's mandate.

Adrian Cioroianu said on Thursday that he made a new nomination for the vacant position in Washington, after withdrawing the nomination of Iulian Buga, former ambassador in Holland and currently secretary in the Foreign Ministry.
