A small private plane, IR 5060 crashed near Brasov in Sanpetru on Thursday morning. The pilot and another person accompanying him lost their lives as they were caught in the plane wreck, TV news station Antena 3 reports, quoting firefighters at the scene of the accident.

One of the victims is the commander of the Sanpetru aerodrome and the other, his pupil taking flying lessons.

The plane crashed 5 km away from the aerodrome. Authorities did not determine the cause of the accident so far.

It seemed that the plane was registered to Romanian businessman Silviu Prigoana but none of his family members were on the plane.
