Foreign Affairs Minister, Adrian Cioroianu announced in a press conference on Thursday that a draft law would be submitted in the next parliamentary session, allowing Romanians abroad to vote by mail.

The new legislative initiative will not replace the classical voting system in consulates and embassies. The measure was taken to ease the voting system and the both systems will function in the same time.

Cioroianu said that this initiative was a legislative premiere and would become a law and applicable by time of the European Parliamentary elections this autumn.
