The best news all day Tuesday is that Bucharest football team Dinamo managed to obtain an encouraging 1:1 in the first leg against the internationally renowned Lazio Roma. In case of a bit better result in Bucharest, Dinamo will pass through the third and last qualification round for the Champions' League.

Of course, sports must be covered by some not so good news in politics: the main Opposition party prepares to bury the governing Liberals and capitalize on the few recent populist governmental actions.

With Ionel Danciulescu scoring in the 21st minute, the football players in Lazio faced a tough game last night. The luck was on their side and Mutarelli managed to even the score in the 59th minute, but the final 1:1 was a score in favor of the guest team Dinamo Bucharest, Evenimentul Zilei reads.

Dinamo is an inch away from qualifying in the Champions' League series, in case the second leg of the game, to be played in Bucharest, brings along a (not much) better score.

But the main media event, the news receiving the widest coverage on Wednesday is the censure motion about to be tabled by the main opposition party, Social Democrats (PSD).

"It is better to have our own government or to let president Basescu have his cabinet, but Liberals are no longer a solution", is the central idea of the initiative, same Evenimentul Zilei comments.

And also in Evenimentul Zilei, analysts explain the gesture by the important political capital PSD may gain in 2008, due to the populist measures PSD almost dictated to the Liberal government.

Also in the news:

Gandul - Baneasa airport (near Bucharest) reopens on Wednesday, although works aren't quite finished. On the contrary,

Cotidianul - Immigrants working in Romania sent home over 1 billion euros during the first six months of the year, three times more then in H1 2006, thus significantly contributing to Romania's budget and current account deficits.
