Foreign Affairs Ministry draws the attention to all citizens that leaving the Schengen area makes documents such as passports or identity cards mandatory, an official release of the institution reads.
Authorities said on Tuesday that many Romanian citizens with permanent or temporary residence permits in the Schengen area attempt to cross borders without Romanian valid IDs.
Most cases are registered at the Austrian - Hungarian border where Romanians are recommended to address the consulate to obtain the necessary documents to travel.
