The Medical Doctors' College in Bucharest announced that the suspicions on surgical malpractice in the case of the deceased Romania Orthodox Patriarch Teoctist have no grounds.

The investigation on surgeon Ionel Sinescu will be continued by the National College, the institution that has the final word in such cases.

Patriarch Teoctist died on July 30, aged 92, shortly after a prostate intervention. The Medical Doctors' College opened an investigation after Teoctist's personal doctor, Nicolae Ursea, accused the surgical team of malpractice.
