Dozens of houses in the Constanta, SW county Romania were flooded following torrential rain that has hit the area since last night. The most affected towns are the Black Sea resorts of Costinesti, Neptun and Saturn.

Rain is also causing trouble in central and eastern Romania on Tuesday, where a national road was blocked after the collapse of a bridge under a landslide, according to TV news reports.

Authorities in Bucharest issued a weather warning on Monday saying 13 counties across Central, Eastern and Southern Romania should expect torrential rain, hail storms and strong winds on Tuesday and Wednesday. A high risk of floods is also present in the areas, it said.

Heavy rain also hit Bucharest on Tuesday morning.

Floods are possible along the Upper Olt river, on the rivers of Arges, ialomita, Suceava, Moldova, Bistrita, Trotus, Putna, Buzau and rivers across Dobrogea county.
