Romania and Bulgaria entering the European space, the setting of ambitious goals in the energy strategy and climate exchange, as well as the new Constitutional treaty discussions are the most important three successes of the European Union, the journalists at the Financial Times consider.
However, the Union needs a few more successful actions, in order to re-define its position in a reality that changes at fast pace. "It needs a purpose and an agenda", the article reads.
FT also draws attention towards the fact that the last 12 states that joined the EU represent a fifth of the Union's populace, but only a 15th of its Gross Product.
