Romanian artist Florian Pittis, who has made a career in music, TV and radio thanks to his smooth voice, was hospitalized in serious condition on Monday, according to reports by TV news stations in Bucharest. Pittis, currently manager of online radio station Radio3net, was hospitalized a cancer institute in Bucharest. Pittis, 63, has been suffering of prostate cancer.

He was also hospitalized last week for a series of medical analyses.

For the time being, he and his family opted not to reveal any details regarding his condition.

After gaining a reputation with a series of folk tunes under the communist regime, when he also became famous for his voice during a - rare at the time - science documentary show on the national television, he spent most of the nineties as a member of the Pasarea Colibri band. He is also an actor, radio producer and composer.

He has more recently engaged as manager of the first exclusively online radio in Romania, Radio3net.ro.
