In Bucharest and other 20 counties across Romania temperatures will range between 39 -40 degrees to 41-42 degrees Celsius the coming days, meteorologists have warned. According to the National Meteorology Administration, the weather will be excessively hot on Monday with temperatures of over 38 degrees Celsius, up to 42 degrees in the South.

The humidity level will often overpass the 80 threshold while the rest of the counties will face temperatures of 29 to 36 degrees Celsius.

In Bucharest, temperatures will exceed 40 degrees Celsius. Starting on Monday, traffic restrictions are cancelled for the yellow code counties while those in the ‘orange code’ counties restrictions are still on.

Health Minister, Eugen Nicolaescu said he does not exclude the possibility to install a red code, which warns against extremely high temperatures for more than two consecutive days.
