The Austrian company Warimpex Finanz-und Beteiligungs purchased 99.98% of the social capital of the four star hotel Golden Tulip Sky Gate informs the company’s press release on Tuesday. The hotel, situated next to Henri Coanda International Airport was bought from the Romanian American Enterprise Fund the main shareholder.

The parties decided not to make public the costs of the transaction.

The hotel was opened in 2001 and since 2005 it functions under the Golden Tulip mark, according to a franchise contract.

“The acquisition is just the first step on the Romanian market, which is constantly growing. We plan to develop further activities in Romania, Franz Jurkowitsch, director of Warimpex said.

The Austrian company holds 13 hotels with 2.800 rooms, seven commercial buildings in Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary.
