As Apple just launched its trendsetter iPhone in the United States, rumors have it that it will soon be available in Europe as well. Sources quoted by German media and the Financial Times say Apple has already started talks with the main telecom providers in Germany, UK or France but it has not made an official announcement.

However, once launched on the European market, Apple will first limit its distribution of iPhone to only a few countries such as France, UK and Germany. Romania will most probably be able to commercialize iPhone next year when Apple will make it available for the Asian market as well.

Given the exclusive deals at stake, Apple is said to have started negociations with the leading mobile operators in the three countries: T-Mobile of Deutsche Telekom division, Orange owned by France Telecom and with O2 in UK.

Even if iPhone is considered a trendsetter and a phone which will revolutionalize the market, it does not use 3G technology.

According to the FT, in the UK, Apple has started discussions with O2, the leading operator in the country. If a deal is signed, O2 would be the first European operator to sign with Apple.
