Romania enters in the European top ten of attractive countries for foreigners, shows an Ernst & Young study today. Marked 7 in the top, Romania attracted 140 foreign direct investment projects, with 62.8% more than 2005.

First in the top is Great Britain, with 686 projects, closely followed by France and Germany with 565 and 286 projects. Among top 15 attractive countries there are Poland (6), the Czech Republic (9), Hungary (11) and Russia (13).

Most of investment projects in Europe come from the US, Germany, Great Britain, Japan and France.

However, Western Europe is considered most attractive for foreign investors, as the area gained more than 74% of total projects. On the other hand, Central and Eastern Europe together managed to get only 26% of total investments.

According to the study, the scores reflect the attractiveness of Western Europe in the service sector.
