Traffic on two of the most crowded roads in Bucharest, Stefan cel Mare and Iancu de Hunedoara will be partially closed to traffic starting Monday due to street modernization works and the replacement of tram lines, a town hall press release announced. Restrictions will be maintained up to November this year.
Given these conditions, the two boulevards will have only one lane open to the traffic each way. Accordingly, trams will not function during this period.
The town hall also decided to partially close the Obor tunnel, where reconstruction works will start on the existent tram lines. During this period circulation will be open one way only with various restrictions.
