Rasvan Popescu was suggested on Thursday as head of the National Audio-Video Council (CNA), with just 6 votes in favor and 4 against. In the second tour, Popescu was the only candidate.

The Council attempted to chose a president on Wednesday as well, but several members opposed. Even more, the Social Democrat representative in the Council, Valentin Nicolau, resigned, being replaced by movie director Ioan Carmazan.

The things went extremely slow in the Parliament on Wednesday when, except for validating Caramazan as the new representative, the Democrat and the Presidency candidates couldn't receive validation. The Commission also failed to name Alexandru Sassu as president - general manager of the Public TV station, TVR.

Update: Rasvan Ungureanu will be the interim president of the Audio-Video Council and Alexandru Sassu will be interim president and general manager of the public TV station, MPs decided on Thursday. A final decision will be taken after the opening of the next parliamentarian session, in September.
