Extreme weather was seen on Tuesday night in several Southern Romania counties, with major damage to the road and railroad traffic.

In the counties of Mehedinti, Pitesti, Gorj, Dambovita and Prahova, the storms wrested trees, damaged cars, ripped roofs off houses and blocks of flats and caused power failure.

Several violent storms also grew in several Bucharest areas, although the weather forecasts predicted no rain. Two people were injured and the electricity grid was cut in several spots.
