The Romanian city of Cluj will host not only the Nokia mobile phones production facilities but also a development center for the company's most demanded software. The Cluj center is the second in Romania, after Bucharest, to coordinate the company's commercial activities.

The Nokia Enterprise Solutions division functions in Cluj since February 2006, but it officially became part of the company only after Nokia acquired the US-originating company Intellisync.

Thus, the Research and Development team at Intellisync Cluj joined the Nokia company along with other 1,000 employees worldwide.

The center in Cluj currently employs 110 IT specialists. The main applications developed in the center refer to organizing and sending data in a secure environment: Nokia Intellisync Mobile Suite, Nokia Intellisync SDK, Nokia Intellisync SyncML Server and Nokia Intellisync Device Management.

The applications may run on several platforms, including Windows and Linux.
