Presidential counselor Silviu Barbu demanded on Tuesday to be released from his position, after the local media in Brasov presented the transcript of a discussion in which Barbu demanded the Transylvania Law School Dean to intervene in favor of his brother-in-law.
Presidency spokesman Valeriu Turcan declared for NewsIn that Barbu resigns in order to prevent the institution from being affected by the scandal.
According to the journalists in Brasov, the recorded phone registration shows Barbu trying to "make sure" that his brother-in-law passes one of the exams.
After the resignation, Barbu returns to work in the Brasov Court.
