The Parliament approved, with 234 votes in favor and 16 against, the designation of 11 new members in the Administration Council of the Romanian public TV station, TVR. The candidates suggested by the Democrat Party and the Presidential Administration will be heard by the MPs special commission on Monday.

UpdateValentin Nicolau, supported by the main Opposition Party, the Social Democrats, became the new head of the National Audio-Video Council (CNA), after the sudden death of the former president, Ralu Filip.

The former TVR board was legally dissolved, after the annual report failed to receive the MPs approval.

Months before, TVR was the stage of a scandal, having the general manager suspended, re-instated as interim, then dismissed.
