Romanian meteorologists have warned that extremely temperatures for the period, as felt through the weekend, would remain at record levels for the whole week. Temperatures are expected to stay above 35 degrees Celsius oin Tuesday and rise to 37 degrees Celsius in southern Romania on Thursday and Friday, the main meteorological body in the country, INMH, has announced.

The temperatures are 8-10 degrees Celsius higher than the normal average for the period.

Extreme temperatures are also affecting Bulgaria where Sofia Echo quoted the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences last weekend as saying that temperatures of up to 40 degrees Celsius are expected for this week.

But Novinite.com reported that the water temperatures on the Bulgarian seaside would not exceed 20 degrees Celsius until late this month.
