Romania's industrial production dropped 12.3% in April compared to the previous month, but grew 2.3% compared to April 2006, the National Statistics Institute informs.

Between January and April, the industrial production grew 6.3%, compared to the same months in 2006.

The decrease was registered in all three main areas of production: processing (-12.3%), extraction and exploitation (-8.1%) and electricity and thermal energy (-17.7%).
