The currency reserves of the Romanian National Bank (BNR) stood at 21.93 billion euro by the end of May 2007, up 525.5 million euro compared to the previous month, according to BNR data released on Tuesday. The boost is based on incomes of 992.2 million euro and outcomes of 396.7 million euro.

The gold reserve stood at 104.7 tons. Given the evolution of international prices, its value was down by 30 million euro to 1.64 billion euro, bringing the whole international reserves of the BNR, currency and gold to 23.58 billion euro.
