Democratic Party (PD) leader Emil Boc announced officially on Monday that his party would submit a motion against the Liberal-dominated government led by Calin Popescu Tariceanu.

Boc made the statement following multi-party talks with Romanian President Traian Basescu today as political forces are trying to solve a series of authority issues following a May 19 referendum that had Basescu return to power despite strong Parliament opposition.

The talks between Basescu and various party leaders on Monday were due to focus on the lustration law, on a bill to introduce uninominal votes in the Romanian electoral system as well as the establishment of a clear parliamentary majority.

The first to meet President Basescu today were the leaders of the opposition Social Democrats (PSD), who made no statements following talks in the morning.
