During the meeting of Central, East and South European head of states in Brno (the Czech Republic), Romania president Traian Basescu talked about Moldova's potential access to the European Union, as well as about energy policies, global warming and climate changes.

"Our region went through deep changed during the past 17 years: 10 countries became members of the European Union and states from the Western Balkans have a certain accession perspective. But we wish for Moldova to be as well taken into account for a future step in the enlargement process", said Traian Basescu.

"The community of European citizens means solidarity with the aspirations of all societies which, through their history and culture, belong to the European civilization space", Basescu explained.
