Cristian Mungiu qualified for the Cannes movies competition with his “4 months, 3 weeks and 2 days”, the story of a young woman (played by Laura Vasiliu) who chooses abortion and then supports the legal consequences in a Communist and inhuman Romania.

According to the critics in Cannes, Mungiu became over night one of the movies’ “beloved son” and is now one of the favorites for the Grand Prize.

The movie doesn’t have any soundtrack, but is built almost like a thriller, keeping the audience under tension all its length.
