The Society for Justice (SoJust), a Romanian NGO, will notify the European Comission, the European Council and the European Parliament about what it calls new Justice minister Tudor Chiuariu’s attempts to slow down reform in the country’s Justice reform and the fight against corruption.

The announcement comes as Chiuariu has called for the resignation of a top anti-graft prosecutor earlier this week.

While Chiuariu says he has called for the dismissal of Anti-Corruption Department (DNA) prosecutor Doru Tulus because of his lack of efficiency, most Romanian Justice bodies protested the call and said it was a sign of political interference with the justice system.

51 prosecutors have protested Chiuariu’s “abusive” request earlier this week.
