The events on Tuesday, when Justice Minister Tudor Chiuariu demanded the replacement of an anti corruption prosecutor, caused three resignations today. Ion Codescu, secretary for European Affairs, Cristi Danilet, one of the minister's counselors and Laura Stefan, manager of the Crime and Corruption Prevention department, all quit on Wednesday.

Danilet officially declared for Hotnews.ro that the minister's attempt to replace Tulus is "clearly pressure put on prosecutors". Danilet also unveiled the fact that the Justice Minister asked him to restrain from making any public statements, after an interview with him was published a week ago.

Justice Minister Chiuariu claims that the resignations don't represent a protest and says that the arguments brought forth by the three officials were discussed privately.
