The European Parliament will vote on May 10 the regulation on reducing roaming fees 70%. The new rule, suggested by the European Commission, will also be subject for public debate on May 9.

European Commissioner for Information Society and Media, Viviane Reding, says it is possible for the legal frame to be ready this summer.

The maximum fee for calling from one country to another was established at 40 eurocents per minute for caller and 15 eurocents for receiver.

At the end of March, Greek EP Katerina Batzeli suggested that Romania and Bulgaria should not be part of the new deal, because "they have relatively immature markets and need substantial investments in their networks". The suggestion was rejected.
