"Traian Basescu is obsessed with power and, because of this, acts only in pursuit of his own interests", said Liberal campaign head Ludovic Orban in a press conference on Thursday.
Orban also presented the official position of the Liberal Party: "the only solution on the president's dismissal referendum is that Romanians go to vote and say "Yes"".
Ludovic Orban he was among the main contributors to Basescu's victory in 2004. "Traian promised he will play everything on one card - the Constitution. He promised he would gain the respect and appreciation from all the states and he would fight the corrupt system".
Orban says that all people who supported Basescu, believing he represented their hopes and aspirations, must now repair their mistake and bring Romania back to normal.
