The Kremlin authorities do not seem to come to terms with US military bases in Romania, as Russian President Vladimir Putin has himself confirmed in a meeting with US Defense Secretary Robert Gates, as the latter was quoted as saying for Washington Post.

The two held a meeting in Moscow on Monday where US military bases in Eastern Europe were discussed. The Russian President used the occasion to express his displeasure with United State plans to install an anti-ballistic shield in Poland and a radar system in the Czech Republic. He also showed concern about US bases in Romania.

Romania has agreed to have four US bases installed on its territory, at Mihail Kogalniceanu, Babadag, Smardan and Cincu.
