The last version of the Regional Operational Programme (ROP), concluded in April following negotiations with the EU, is available online on the website of the former Integration Ministry.

Additionally, the Management Authority of the ROP has proposed a draft of the eligible costs for reimbursement of the potential beneficiaries, which is now open for public debate. The draft, together with a general framework that provides the conditions for financing is to be enforced by law.

The general framework draft is also open to public debate on the website of the Finances Ministry, the initiator of the act.

The Regional Operational Programme 2007-2013 contributes, together with the other programmes, to the accomplishment of the general objective of the National Regional Strategy, namely to reduce the disparities between Romania’s regions.

ROP aims at improving regional and local transport infrastructure, improving social infrastructure (education and health), strengthening the regional and local business environment, creating sustainable development of regional and local tourism, supporting sustainable urban development, and providing technical assistance to support ROP’s implementation.

For the period 2007-2013, the regional programme will be financed by the State Budget and co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund, one of the EU Structural Funds.
