The foreign investments in Romania decreased 13% during the first two months of the year, compared to the similar period in 2006, the Central Bank (BNR) data show. In January and February, the direct foreign investments reached 870 million euros, compared to a billion euros in 2006.

Out of all foreign investments, 54% were participations in capital and reinvested profit. The Romanian Agency for foreign Investments estimates seven billion euros investments in 2007, compared to 9.1 billions in 2006.
