World Bank’s president, Paul Wolfowitz is under growing pressure after admitting that he raised the wage of a female employee he was involved with romantically, more and more voices demanding his resignation.

The WB board announced on Friday that it had no knowledge on the salary increase (from 140,000 to 200,000 US dollars annually) offered to Shaha Riza, Wolfowitz’s mistress.

“I made a mistake and I regret it”, said Wolfowitz publicly on Thursday.

Several employees demanded his resignation on the same day.
