The National Anti Graft Prosecution Office (DNA) sent to trial the deputy mayor of the Suceava city, accused of accepting bribe, false statements, abuse against public interests, complicity to forgery and dilapidation.
Deputy mayor Marian Ionescu was the city mayor between 2000 and 2004.
14 other City Hall employees and persons working in various companies were indicted in the same file.
The main evidence refers to advance cashing of various sums, later justified with false documents.
The total losses add up to some 5.73 billion ROL (some 12-13 million euros).
