The Romanian currency, leu (RON) reached a new maximum rate on Wednesday, compared to the euro. The Romanian Central Bank (BNR)posted on Thursday morning a Ron / Euro exchange rate of 3.3373, the lowest rate since December 2002, when it was 33,282 lei per euro (before the 1:10,000 denomination).

RON also grew compared to the US Dollar, reaching 2.4992, the lowest value in five months. The growing trend will continue, analysts say.
